Homedale, Idaho (TFC)- Libertarian author and investigative journalist William N. Grigg passed away from a heart attack on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. He was 54 years old. He is survived by his wife and six children.
He was known for his wide body of work, including authoring 5 books, his blog Pro Libertate, his love for and creation of music, and his unabashed ways of addressing corrupt government agencies and policing with his investigative journalism. He is a co-founder of The Libertarian Institute, has written for Photography is Not a Crime and LewRockwell.com, and has contributed to numerous other outlets over the course of his writing career.
The libertarian and police accountability communities have shown an outpouring of support to his Facebook page following word of his passing. A GoFundMe page was set up prior to his passing, due to his hospitalization due to an infection. People have been continuing to donate to show support to his loved ones.
Note from the Author: While he was not everyone’s cup of tea, he was this journalist’s very first view into Libertarian writings, as I had access to his writings first in newsprint in the Inland Northwest and not on the internet like many of his loyal readers have had the privilege of finding him. While I don’t remember the exact title of the article, the body had to do with the small-town, good ole boy mentality of the policing in many of the towns in Idaho. His words were sharpened to an expert edge; just enough to make newsprint standards but still enough to pointedly convey the fact that he did not care for the police sweeping corruption under the rug. His heart was strong in his faith in Christ to the very end, and his love for music was known by many who followed his personal works. He will be sorely missed by the liberty and police accountability circles, as well as many others. Rest in Peace, Mr. Grigg.
